Rock slope blasting operations will be conducted all this week for the reconstruction of Westbound Route 17 between Exit 119 and Exit 129. Blasts are planned for Monday, 6/22/09, Tuesday, 6/23/09, Wednesday, 6/24/09, Thursday, 6/25/09, and Friday, 6/26/09.
The time for the Blasts each day will be 1:00 PM.
The New York State Police are requested to stop traffic on both Westbound and Eastbound Route 17 in the vicinity of this work before the rock blasting operations each day, in coordination with the DOT Inspection Staff and Contractor.

RT 17 Construction
MAJOR TRAFFIC ON RT 17 There is major construction at the Middletown Exit 121. They are reconstructing the bridge and there has been significant traffic. To bypass the mess take the following route. (this should only take 10 minutes) *Take Exit 122 Crystal Run (you will see the Outback, hotels) *Make a right at first light you come to from the exit *Make a left at next light (Chili's on your left) *Go straight on this road until the end (Goshen Tpk) *Make a left on Goshen Turnpike and take until the end into Circleville *At the end of Goshen Tpk make a left onto Rt 302. *Take Rt 302 for about 3 minutes and you will come to the Rt 17 entrance (Source Twinoaksvillage.orq)
